BORROWING
Items that you can borrow from the library include:
Fiction is divided into Genres. Each genre (or topic/ theme) has been arranged on the shelves in alphabetical order of the author’s surname.
Remember:
Each book spine is clearly labelled with the first 3 letters of the author's surname (for easy navigation) and either JF, TF or SF. This stands for 'Junior Fiction', 'Teenage Fiction' and 'Senior Fiction'. You are free to borrow any book you wish but this provides a guide to the likely content of each book. In addition, many books are labelled with our 'Accelerated Reader' colour-coding to give an indication of difficulty level.
There is also a Graphic Novels/ Comics collection (Senior comic books) and Quick Reads collection (short stories with large text).
- You can borrow six books at a time.
- Not finished your book after two weeks? Bring it back and it can be re-stamped for another two weeks.
- As part of your English course you must read regularly. Reading is a great way to relax and we are very lucky that our school library has such a good selection of books.
- If you cannot find the sort of book you like, ask the librarian for help.
- You may also request the use of a Kindle in the library. This has been loaded with many popular classics such as 'Treasure Island', Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde' and 'Frankenstein'. In addition, new favourites such as David Walliams and 'Tom Gates' titles are included.
